Can someone please stop Will Ferrell from making movies? Please? I've now been seeing the trailer for his latest disaster, Stepbrother, and I have decided it is time to stop the madness. I'll grant that, talent-wise, Will Ferrell is better than some of the other comedic "stars" that boggle the mind with their ability to keep making movies (read: Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers). Still, this doesn't make up for the appalling crap he puts on the screen. And I'm tired of people trying to convince me that his movies are funny. No, they're not. I'm not certain he's ever made a single good movie. Movies with a couple good parts? Maybe. But an actual good movie? No. And to anyone who says otherwise, you're wrong. I'd love if Will would go back to SNL or some other sketch comedy. He was brilliant at that. But movies? Not your thing Will. Please, for all our sakes, stop.
And speaking of Eddie Murphy, I see he's got another bomb coming out where he plays multiple characters. This seems to be his schtick now. You can almost hear the commercial where the deep voiced announcer says, "A hilarious new comedy starring Eddie Murphy... and Eddie Murphy... and Eddie Murphy!" At which point we are all supposed to roll off our couches, clutching our sides with the pain of laughter, and speed dial Fandango to pre-order our tickets. Eddie Murphy hasn't made a good film since the first Beverly Hills Cop. He either has very little talent or absolutely no ability to determine the components of a quality script. Since his stand-up shows were actually pretty funny, I'll assume the latter in which case he needs to hire someone for a career makeover or, like Will Ferrell, just stop making movies.
And for those Hollywood moguls who greenlight this crap, I've got some prime real estate on the East bank of the Flats in Cleveland to sell you.

I agree on these guys. I actually think they have talent, but the movies they chose are 100% crap.
The same can be said for many dramatic actors, as well. Tom Cruise comes to mind as one of those famous dolts that keeps choosing the same role over and over. So does Morgan Freeman.
I literally have no respect for these people that get paid to masturbate on screen. I loathe ALL actors. I would cherish the moment if a bomb dropped on Hollywood. Think of the red carpet turning blood red.
...now that would be worth the price of admission.
I think you're right. What bothers me is that most of them are one trick ponies.
OH they ALL play themselves. Jack Nicholson, William Hurt...I used to really like these guys but it's the same damn thing over and over. I think this is why I enjoy watching Johnny Depp, because I actually forget he's Johnny Depp. And Daniel Day Lewis. Did y'all see "There Will Be Blood"? Worth the rental, actually.
Will Ferrell was good in "Stranger than Fiction," and it was a good film. Not great, but interesting. And why was he good? He was subdued. And I also liked "Elf."
