Forward!..Retreat

Well, I'm off to our firm's retreat tomorrow morning. The picture is of the resort's aquatic center. Looks cool. Though I can't bring myself to being in a bathing suit around people I work with. It should be a relaxing trip and I'll be back Sunday.

I've decided I'm taking very little with me on the trip. I'm not taking my laptop or iPod or anything else. I just want to relax. It will be relatively busy anyway. Friday is pretty light with just an afternoon opening remarks meeting. Then Saturday morning is a couple of meetings and that's it. Saturday afternoon I'm going to the air and space museum by Dulles and then I fly back early Sunday.

It's always a bit odd going to these things. Since I'm not an attorney, I always feel a little strange finding a seat at lunches and dinners. The attorneys have their own cadre of friends in each office and often they each lunch together every day. As somewhat of an outsider, I don't really get together with them in that way so these retreats can be a bit uncomfortable. Still, I know a lot more people at the firm than I did this time last year so I'm just going to relax and have a good time. It'll be nice to have a little break.
